Thursday night Jenny Lewis amazed the listeners at the Opera House with the first show of her new tour. Opening with a solo acoustic set, Jenny played some older numbers from her days with Rilo Kiley as well as some new pieces featured on her latest LP Acid Tongue. Her band joined her for the second set, meshing pristine harmonies and acoustics; they gave the audience a fun and sexy vibe all night long. The band was inexorable, which included boyfriend Jonathan Rice and slide guitarist Farmer Dave, both of whom were well received by the audience. All who attended this performance went home with a surfeit of satisfaction, knowing they had not only seen Jenny Lewis in her first show of this tour, but in the smallest venue she will play all year.
