The Sheridan Arts Foundation is happy to report that our first annual car rally fundraiser was super successful and super fun for everyone. 14 cars departed from the Blue Jay Cafe on the morning of August 19th and embarked on a 3 hour journey through Norwood, Naturita, and lastly, through the beautiful Gateway Canyons leading up to the Gateway Canyons Resort. There was a lot at stake throughout the drive when it came to collecting bits of pieces of information to complete the very detailed trivia packet (including a mandatory milk shake from the renowned Blondie's Drive-In in Naturita).
After a relaxing lunch and tour of the fabulous Classic American Automobile Museum, guests enjoyed hikes, spa time, naps and even a little champagne by the pool. The delicious cocktail hour and dinner were proceeded by trivia awards, birthday cake, lots of laughs, speeches, music, and even a marriage proposal over dessert! We are happy to congratulate Peter and Lisa on their engagement, as well as being first place trivia winners. Second place trivia winners were Erik and Heidi, followed by Paul and Grace. Paul and Grace also secured the Slowest Arrival Time Award with Bob and Nancy Hayden securing the Fastest Arrival Time Award. After an adventure and activity filled day, guests were finally able to lay down for a good night of sleep in the elegant and spacioius resort accomodations.
Thank you to all of those who attended this first time event. We hope you had as much fun as we did and we hope to see you next year for round two. Be sure to check out event photos under the GALLERY tab and stay tuned on this website for updates on the 2011 event.
