Help the Sheridan Arts Foundation buy new theater seats!

We can reach our $99,656 goal if just 100 community members donate $1,000 each, but donations of ANY amount are greatly appreciated!

We've already raised $68,100! Thank you, Telluride!

The SAF is asking the community for donations of any size to help raise the needed funds. Our 70+ year-old theater seats have been officially retired, and we are now in the process of purchasing replicas of our original seats from 1913 through the Irwin Seating Company. To meet our May 2019 deadline for installation, we need to place our order now. We currently have no theater seats in the Sheridan Opera House!

Donations can be made online by clicking here.  Donations of all sizes are welcome and encouraged. Checks can also be mailed to PO Box 2680 Telluride, CO 81435 or dropped off at the Opera House office on the third floor of the building.

All existing plaques will be transferred to our new theater seats in the exact same location.

We are giving away our old theater seats for FREE on a first come, first served basis!

We have four pick up days, all from 12-4 p.m. on:

Saturday, February 23,

Wednesday, February 27,

Friday, March 8,

Saturday, March 16.

Please plan on bringing someone to help you carry the seats, as they are only available in pairs, weigh over 100lbs and are located in our basement. Sheridan Opera House staff is NOT available to help move any of the seats. If you are unable to make it to any of those pick up days, please contact Ronnie at 970.728.6363 ext. 1 to arrange an earlier pick up date.

Founded as a 501(c) 3 non-profit in 1991, the Sheridan Arts Foundation’s mission is to preserve the historic theater to provide quality music and entertainment to the Telluride community and to offer educational programs to regional and national youth.

The SAF has spent more than $2 million to restore the Sheridan Opera House over the last 26 years. Past projects included restoring the theater’s original maple flooring, reconfiguring the emergency exit staircase in the alley, patching the roof, replicating the interior stencils, building a vestibule and the recently opened SHOW Bar and most recently, replacing the roof and reinforcing the trusses.

The SAF also subsidizes rent to Telluride's non-profits, making it affordable for the community to host their events in our special space. Last year the SAF subsidized more than $80,000 in rent to local non-profits.
